“Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.”
~ Steve Jobs
Proprioceptive writing.
Have you ever heard of this?
Me neither.
Yet among my emails today was an invitation to attend a workshop on just that, proprioceptive writing.
I had to Google what proprioceptive means:
pro·pri·o·cep·tive
/ˌprōprēəˈseptiv/
- relating to stimuli that are produced and perceived within an organism, especially those connected with the position and movement of the body.
Really?
So what is proprioceptive writing.
According to the invitation I received it is a form of meditative writing.
- The invitation goes on to say it can be used to liberate your creative energies,
- awaken your senses and emotions,
- build self-trust and
- discover your own voice.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....all of this sounds vaguely familiar to me.
Oh wait, this sounds a lot like what I do.
Who knew?
